#NoApologies

Created by Adulting IRL, #NoApologies is a school-based program that partners with school counselors and therapists to identify BIPOC and LGBTQ+ youth who are actively engaging in suicide behaviors. #NoApologies uses an eight-week curriculum to teach youth and young adults social and emotional skills and techniques to restore their belief in their strength, power, and love for themselves. 

What You Get: 

  1.  The importance of culture and identity, and how to embrace their authentic self.

  2. Learn tangible skills to start their journey to heal from trauma.

  3. Take actionable steps to sustain their healing.

  4. Learn peer support skills to increase mindfulness and build community

#YouGoodFam?

Des' years of working with youth and young adults, coupled with research completed by school professionals, has led Des to create #YouGoodFam? to address the leading question on students’ minds: "How do I support my friend who is suicidal?"  #YouGoodFam? is a training designed for youth and young adults to learn "First Aid Suicide Intervention" strategies.

  1. Understand the warning signs of suicide behaviors.

  2. Learn how to ask about suicide behaviors.

  3. Learn and understand de-escalation strategies. 

  4. Learn how to do a “Safe For Now” Plan

  5. Learn how and where to get help.
