They Don't Know... Who We Be

Our origin story is one of hope, resilience, and fierce determination birthed from a desperate call to action needed to reduce the alarming and rising rates of suicide behaviors in BIPOC and LGBTQ2S+ students in the Portland Public Schools District. Armed with Des' visionary peer support prowess, we rolled out a suite of life-affirming gems, the iconic #IRLSeries.

More than just a program; it’s a lifeline for K-12 students and families, community members, and the organizations that serve them.  We’re here to:

  1. Give youth and young adults the tools they need to live their best life unapologetically.

  2. Lift up and embolden new youth peer support specialists to become cultural change agents.

  3. Challenge the stigma of suicide in Black, Brown, and Indigenous communities.

Adulting IRL’s groundbreaking #IRLSeries is rooted in authenticity and steeped in cultural richness. We are relentless in our mission to ensure access to knowledge, resources, and holistic support with programs like:

  1. #NoApologies: Suicide Support Group for Middle and High School aged young adults

  2. #YouGoodFam: First aid Suicide Intervention Training for Middle and High School aged young adults

  3. #ISeeYou: Culturally Specific Youth Peer Support Specialist Certification Training

  4. #Amplify&Thrive: Culturally Specific Peer Supervision Training

We're not just another nonprofit; we're a movement. We stand for love, acceptance, and unwavering support. We're a family and here to lift you up when life gets heavy. Together, we're changing the game and saving lives. This is the future, and it's looking brighter every day. 💪🏾🏳️‍🌈✊🏾 #IRLHope
